COMPLAINT OF EXTORTION BY TOTAL FILLING STATION ON DIYA STREET, IFAKO -GBAGADA, LAGOS

Dear Sir/Ma,

I write to officially lodge a complaint against one of your dealers as per the subject.

I am a loyal customer of your brand and always find an excuse to delay buying fuel for my cars and generator until I get to a Total Filling Station. Due to the fact that I stay in Oworonshoki, I usually patronize the above outlet and I am known by most of the attendants there.

I visited the outlet yesterday to buy fuel but was told that I had to pay an extra N50.00 if I wanted to pay via the POS. I tried to reason with them saying that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had announced that the deduction was illegal and should stop but they were adamant.

I eventually had to pay with the last cash on me and was thus greatly inconvenienced.

I later called the dealer using the phone numbers displayed at the outlet for complaints. To my surprise, I was informed that the charge was being deducted with the knowledge of Total Nigeria!

Kindly help clarify the situation and call the dealer to order in the event that you did not authorize the deduction in violation of CBN's directive.

I have copied CBN in this mail as I am greatly in need of clarification and fairness.
